David Cain
Namesake of the comicbook assassin, Cain worked at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop (home of Delia Derbyshire and the original Doctor Who theme tune) from 1967 to 1973. He is now retired and living in Poland
Crossbeat is taken from the compilation of Radiophonic tracks released by Rephlex in 2003. It's well worth seeking out as there are some absolute gems on it - definitely an area I'd like to see Rephlex investigating further
The track is only 25 seconds long and is an example of wonderful restraint - perhaps a precursor to BoC's 30 second melodic interludes - and all the better for it's brevity
