Venetian Snares
Regulars might be getting a little dismayed at the frequency of posts here relating to Venetian Snares (see here + here), but he is, as far as I'm concerned, without a rival at the moment in terms of quality
When the New Statesman reviewed Thomas Pynchon's novel Gravity's Rainbow, they said it 'makes other novels, by comparison, seem simple-minded.' This is exactly how I feel about Snares' music - after listening to it for a while, most other stuff just seems a bit boring and it isn't long until I'm back listening to Mr Funk again.
His latest offering, released last month, is Rossz Csillag Allat Született. I've had it a couple of weeks and I've listened to very little else since getting it. By far my favourite album of his, it mixes his usual frenetic beats with strings to great effect. The sound is vaguely reminiscent of Aphex Twin's Girl/Boy EP, but the beats are characteristically tighter and more interesting on Snares' record
This is track two from the record - by no means my favourite, but its the one I'm listening to at the moment. The title translates as having something to do with the word 'click', but again I'm not 100%...

Very tempting, love a lot of your tastes - but I just get redirected to "welcome to this.is/". Oh well. One of your refs to old posts works, so i guess i can check Venetian Snares that way for now..

shame - I wasn't hosting the file so wasn't sure how long the link would work... both other Venetian Snares posts are still up and running though
